How difficult a sewing tutorial could be
do not take too many pictures. I usually like to see a lot of details of a tutorial, but the page is going to be filled with pictures and the text will get lost between them. And
it is not easy to understand what you want to say with your pictures. Just because you know in which situation you took the picture and what is important on it, a person who has no idea of what the picture is about will not understand it.
trying to get a type of writing. Of course a tutorial is always written the same way. You tell a person what to do or what you did, but every sentence seems like it is just the same. And when you are not that much into writing (especially when it is not your mother language) and you want to get variety you will not get that happy with your post.
how to write it could be better to do the tutorial a different way, than I did. Yeah… sometimes I am focused on my stuff, I have an idea in mind and am going straight ahead, but at any point I realize I could have done something a little different. But the input would be much bigger than the different output would make, so I decide to move on with the original method. However, if I would do it again, I would change my method and when I am going to share the tutorial I want the reader to do it the better way.
it’s not easy to create a pattern another person will understand and that will guarantee a good outcome. When I started sewing I followed the tutorial and did it the exact same way. I almost never tried the clothes on or adjusted anything. But now, after I started to sew without patterns and measured everything on my own body, I try them on at least 2 times an hour. (Or when I change something or put something new together) I know how important it is to get a good fitting clothing, but what if the reader does not know?
it is more stressful if you want to post regularly. You keep thinking of the blog post and stop thinking creatively.
This is what I have been struggling with for the last few weeks. I decided to write different posts instead and continue working on the tutorial in the background. I do really like the dress I made and I want to write a tutorial, but I want to write a good one and I need more time.
Stay tuned, the tutorial will come… (sometime)
See you on my next post,
Teresa
